Posted

Leaving a tractor-sized hole in our hearts, John Lee Lasher passed away on April 23, 2022, at 87 years old.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1934, to William and Christina in Raymond, Washington. He was the second of four children.

He grew up on the family homestead in South Dakota where he graduated from Letcher High School in 1952. After graduation, he moved to Portland, Oregon, to help his mom where he met the love of his life, Delores Charlene. They married on June 3, 1956. They built a life together on their farm in Ridgefield, Washington, where they had three children. He spent his career running an auto body shop. After he retired, he loved investing his time in his farm and animals. He took great pride in restoring antique farm equipment and was a proud member of the Fort Vancouver Antique Equipment Association. The things John loved, he loved strongly, including his family, animals, collecting tractors, boating, western movies and McDonald’s.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Delores; three children, Richard (Shelly), Donald (Sandra), and Linda; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve), Richard (Sarim), Casey (Chelsea), Lindsey, Timothy and Jeffrey; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Darrell and two sisters, Elaine and Marjorie.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. May 6 at Footprints Church, 801 NE 194th St., Ridgefield, Washington.
