In loving memory of Jerome Rogauskas: 1945-2022

Posted

Jerome “Jerry” Rogauskas, was born on Sept. 22, 1945, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, in Lincoln City, Oregon.

He is preceded in death by his father Frank Rogauskas, and his mother Anna (Andrescavage) Rogauskas. He is survived by his siblings James Rogauskas, Joan Rogauskas and Joel Rogauskas; his son Jerome “JC” Rogauskas; and his granddaughter Ella Rogauskas.

Two months prior to his death, Jerome happily welcomed a new daughter-in-law, Kara Kazemba, and her two children into his family.

Known by many as just “grandpa,” Jerome was described as an “intellectual” and was a lifelong learner and teacher, holding multiple degrees and various careers. He lived a vibrant life of traveling, collecting, and enjoying food and wine. While he enjoyed the solitude of a good book, he treasured challenging others to a game of Risk or Chess and mixing up martinis for visitors. His grumpiness and dry sense of humor will be missed by family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at which much whiskey and stories of Jerry will flow steadily. Email rogauskas@gmail.com for details.
