In loving memory of Harvey Reeder: 1940-2022

Harvey Carpenter Reeder of Ridgefield, Washington, passed away on Feb. 9, 2022 at the age of 81. Harvey was born Aug. 24, 1940 to Perry and Evelyn (Castle) (Carpenter) Reeder. He grew up on Bay Ocean and Cape Mears. Harvey graduated from Tillamook High School in 1958, where he participated in football, wrestling and track. He served in the U.S. Navy after he graduated. On March 9, 1963, Harvey married Phyllis Julia Mofford of Battle Ground, Washington. Harvey will live on through his family who will always love him. Harvey worked at Great Western Malting in Vancouver, Washington. He retired from the company in 1997. Harvey, a true outdoorsman, enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, riding his quad, raising Koi fish and chickens. His most cherished times were spent with his family. Harvey is survived by his wife Phyllis; daughter Vicky (Rod) Fryer of Battle Ground, Washington; sons Steve (Teri) Reeder of Battle Ground, Washington, Eric (Alyshia) Reeder of Ridgefield, Washington, and Keith (Amanda) Reeder of Woodland, Washington; sister Bernice Balschweid of Dallas, Oregon; and brother Perry and Sharon Reeder of Oceanside, Oregon, as well as 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Guy Harvey Reeder and a sister Helen Haas. 

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on March 4, 2022, at Park Hill Cemetery, 5915 East Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, Washington.
