Georgianne Elizabeth Duback, a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother, took her last breath on Feb. 24, 2025, in La Center, Washington. She was born on March 8, 1951, in Portland to Peter and Mnostoula Kanelis, who preceded her in death.
She attended Jefferson High School in Portland. Georgianne retired from United Harvest where she was a superintendent. She loved music, dancing, cooking and spending time in her gardens.
Georgianne married the love of her life, Gary, on June 23, 2005. Together, they spent countless hours traveling by motorhome, usually to her favorite place, under the sun in Arizona. They shared a love for their dog, Annie. Being a Yiayia to her seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren was one of her greatest blessings.
Georgianne is survived by her husband, Gary Duback; sister, Elizabeth, and her husband, David Barkelew, of Santa Cruz, California; brother, John Kanelis, of Princeton, Texas; her daughters, Stephanie Wilson and Tami Todd, both of Vancouver, Washington; her aunt, Sophie Runyard, of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Alicia Eback, of Seattle, Washington, Mackenzie Mazingo and Michael Wilson, both of Molalla, Oregon, and Ashlee Eback, Aaron Thorsen, Chase Todd and Taryn Todd, all of Vancouver, Washington; two nephews, Peter Kanelis, of Princeton, Texas, and Nathan Kanelis, of Allen, Texas; one niece, Andrea Nance, of Santa Cruz, California; several great-nieces; and great-grandchildren.
Georgianne would love donations to the Search Dog Foundation in her name (www.searchdogfoundation.org).
There will be a celebration of life in late March or early April.
