Elaine Marie Nielsen Thompson, 74, was born in Vancouver, Washington, to the late Harry and Mary Nielsen, of Brush Prairie, where she grew up on the family farm, with brothers Jim (Linda) Nielsen and Raymond (Cathy) Nielsen, and sister DeeDee (John) Gilbert.
She graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1967.
Elaine met and married the love of her life Charlie Thompson in 1989. After Charlie retired, they moved to Arizona, where they had made so many wonderful friends. Elaine discovered her love of water volleyball and played as often as she could.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 34 years. She leaves behind her son, Wade (Leeann) Nielsen and stepchildren Samantha (Fred) Lacy, Jason (Alicia)Thompson and April (John) Pyles, as well as seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews.
She will truly be missed.
