Darrell Lee Dix passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus at the age of 78. He was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, and the family moved out west when he was in first grade.
He graduated in Scappoose, Oregon, and served in the U.S. Army for three years in Germany. He worked as a truck driver and as an owner operator before working and retiring as a driver with Fred Meyers. He loved salmon fishing, camping and traveling, playing board games, and delighted in beating everyone at church camping playing the Washer game.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 and a half years, Judy, two brothers, two sisters, two nephews, four nieces, and two stepsons and their families.
A celebration of his life is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 at Mountain View Christian Center, 2810 NE 259th St., Ridgefield, Washington, 98642. Since Darrell loved potlucks, there will be one after the service for all of us to enjoy.
