In loving memory of Crystal Shileika: 1943-2022

Posted

Crystal (Chris) Lee Shileika passed away on July 6, 2022, at her daughter's home, after a short battle with cancer with her family by her side.

Chris was born in Portland, Oregon, on March 19, 1943, to John Towhill and Emma Borgensen.

Chris graduated from Grant High School in 1962. She married and started a family shortly after.

Chris married George Shileika in 1976 and moved to the Battle Ground area where she lived the remainder of her life. Chris worked the majority of her career as a legal secretary in downtown Portland.

Chris was a devoted, loving wife for 45 years to her husband George until his death in February. Chris was also a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Chris and her husband George enjoyed traveling, with many trips to Branson, Nashville, the tropics of Jamaica, Hawaii and the Cook Islands. But most of all they enjoyed the many camping trips to Fort Stevens with family.

Along with camping, Chris enjoyed casino days with friends, supporting George at car shows, but most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with family, three grandkids and nine great-grandkids, where she was known as “Great Grams.” Chris was an incomparable mother, grandmother and great Grams and was very involved with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Chris was preceded in death by husband George. She is survived by son Mike Shalduha; daughter Karyn (Rick) Williams; grandchildren Amanda (Ben) Key, Luke (Katy) Williams and Samantha Shalduha; nine great-grandchildren Peyton, Colton, Jedediah, Jameson, Jocelynn, Dylan, Kasey, Broox and Knox; and many nieces and nephews.

Chris has chosen to forgo a service and instead the family will have a private memorial on the beach at Fort Stevens

Thank you to everyone in her life for the help, prayers and support.
