Connie Colleen (Spittler) Schwarz, passed away on June 8, 2021, in her home in Longview, Wash., following a bout with cancer.

Connie was born in Hamburg, Iowa, to Cecil Henry Spittler and Fern Dell (Boldra) Spittler on December 24, 1938.  She retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years of service.

A long time resident of La Center, Wash., she moved to Beaverton, Ore., to care for her mother until she passed, then moved to Longview, Wash.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Cecil; her mother, Fern; her brother, Thomas Spittler; her sister, Genevieve (Spittler) Giebelhouse; and her son William Christy.

Connie is survived by her five remaining children, Patricia Saylors (Mike), Gordon Christy (Tracy), Jolinda Martin (Rick), Amy Brunette and Glen Schwarz (Autumn); her sister Charlene Perry; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Connie was a loving mother who felt strongly about family bonds, as evidenced by the size of her family and her commitment to the annual family picnic.

She was a skilled seamstress, artist, and poet and loved to tell stories and laugh; a determined survivor who could accomplish anything she put her mind to. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, August 21, at 2:00 p.m. at 5320 Kinney Road SW, Olympia, WA 98512.
