In loving memory of Barbara Henrikson: 1930-2022

Barbara Jean (Taylor) Henrikson was born to Bert and Alma Taylor on Aug. 29, 1930 in Portland, Oregon. She was the third of five children and the oldest daughter. She lived in the Portland area during her childhood and graduated from high school and then worked for the telephone company. She met Roy Henrikson in 1951 and they were married on Aug. 24, 1951. Roy brought two boys into the marriage and they had three more boys. They lived in several places but landed in Venersborg, Washington on the Henrikson family farm in 1974. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved sewing, quilting, baking, gardening and doing family history. Barbara and Roy served a mission in the Sweden Stockholm Temple in 1994 to 1995. 

She loved going for rides with Roy, her house on the hill and her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Bert and Alma’ her brothers Dick and Bert; her husband Roy; and her sons James Roy, Jeffery Wayne and David Eric. She is survived by her sisters Lynn (Larry) Phillipy and Shirley Branen; her sons Dale Gordon and Robert Neil (Millie) Henrikson; and two daughters-in-law Kay and Carol Henrikson. She has 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. 

Barbara’s funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel at 7101 NE 166th Ave., Vancouver, Washington, 98682. There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. for family and friends.
