Hockinson School District recently announced its procedures for handling potential visits from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on school campuses, following parent inquiries.
The district has not had any ICE activity on its campuses as of January 2026, a Hockinson School District news release stated on Jan. 27.
Under district protocols, staff are instructed to interact politely and professionally with ICE agents. Agents may enter public areas but are not permitted beyond those spaces or allowed to contact students without a valid judicial warrant. Any request to enter school facilities would be referred to district leadership and legal counsel.
The district will not release student or family records unless legally required and does not collect or share information about a student’s or family’s immigration status. The protocols are intended to maintain safe, orderly schools while protecting student privacy, according to the news release.
