Future 42, a statewide civic engagement and advocacy group, has launched a new Clark County-focused initiative and named Camas City Councilmember Leslie Lewallen as project director.
Lewallen will lead local outreach, advocacy and citizen engagement efforts. Her work will include tracking local government actions, issuing alerts on key policies, releasing county-specific scorecards, and supporting the recruitment and training of local candidates, a press release from Future 42 stated.
“I’m honored to join Future 42 and take on this new role serving the people of Clark County,” Lewallen said in the release. “We need leadership that listens, works collaboratively, and puts families and taxpayers first.”
Future 42 is a Washington-based organization that promotes government accountability and citizen participation. The group supports “common sense policies” and advocates for lowering taxes and reducing crime, according to the organization’s website.
