Free tax assistance available to Clark County residents through VITA

The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is offering free basic tax return preparation for eligible Clark County residents through Ren Locus.

Assistance is available to those earning $67,000 or less annually, individuals with disabilities and limited English-speaking taxpayers, the Ren Locus website stated.

Appointments are required and available online at renlocus.org/vita. Clients should bring necessary documents, including photo ID, Social Security cards and other relevant tax forms. The VITA program only processes basic tax returns, according to Ren Locus.

Interpreters for Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese and American Sign Language are available upon request. Additional languages may be available by phone, the website stated.

Appointments are available at the following locations:

  • Clark County Food Bank: 1-7 p.m., Mondays and Tuesdays, 6502 NE 47th Ave., Vancouver.
  • Fourth Plain Community Commons: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3101 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Ste. 101, Vancouver.
  • Three Creeks Community Library: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 800 NE Tenney Road, Vancouver.
