Clark County residents are invited to attend a Low-Waste Chef Workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Waste Connections of Washington, 9411 NE 94th Ave., Vancouver.
The workshop, hosted by the county’s Composter Recycler program, will cover strategies for smart shopping, proper food storage and creative ways to use leftovers. Participants will also take home supplies to help reduce kitchen waste, according to a Clark County news release.
Food waste is a significant issue for Clark County households. Clark County reports that the average household throws away more than 400 pounds of edible food each year.
