Community calendar, Nov. 17 edition

Toastmaster meetings: 7 p.m. every Tuesday online. Toastmasters holds meetings for people who want to improve their communication skills for business or career development. Meetings are on Zoom. Prevent food waste webinar: 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17. Learn tips for preventing and reducing food spoilage and waste. Pre-registration is required online at clark countycomposts.org/current-offerings.

North Clark Historical Museum: Noon to 4 p.m. on Nov. 17 and Nov. 27 at the North Clark Historical Museum, 21416 NE 399th St., Amboy. The museum will feature Native American exhibits during Native American Heritage Month in November. On Nov. 27, members and volunteers will decorate the museum for Christmas. Retirement party for Dale Boon: 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 at the Port of Woodland, 1608 Guild Road, Woodland. The public is welcome to attend the event to thank Commissioner Dale Boon for his many years of service and recognize his retirement. Bunco: 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 at the Battle Ground Senior Center, 116 NE Third Ave., Battle Ground. 

Holiday gift sale: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20. The Friends of Woodland Community Library will hold a holiday gift sale. Items up for sale include books, knitted and quilted items, handmade wreaths and cards, T-shirts, book bags and jewelry. All of the proceeds will help fund library activities and support a future library. The sale will be held at the Woodland VFW Hall, 434 Davidson Ave., Woodland. Fire District 3 budget hearing: 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22. Clark County Fire District 3 will hold its annual public hearing for the 2022 budget online. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide public comment. More information, including the budget, can be found online at fire3.org.

Annual Turkey Trot 5/10K: 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 25 at Union Ridge Elementary School, 330 N. Fifth Ave., Ridgefield. Come out and support the community by walking in Ridgefield’s annual Turkey Trot. Registration costs $20 to $35 depending on your age group and which event you sign up for. Proceeds will benefit the Ridgefield Public Schools Foundation and the Ridgefield Family Resource Center. For more details or to register online, go to  ridgefield psf.org/events. Elks bingo: 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27 at the Battle Ground Elks Chapter No. 2589 Lodge, 907 SE Grace Ave., Battle Ground. The event is open to Elks members and guests.
