TOPS open house: 10:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, Battle Ground Mobile Estates, Community Office Building, 300 SW Seventh Ave. Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) is hosting an open house. The organization has been helping people lose weight sensibly since 1948. Members meet weekly for a private weigh-in and meeting after. Free Holiday Eating Nutrition Support: 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 18, Studio 312, 312 NE First Ave. Suite 101, Battle Ground. Studio 312 is hosting a free holiday eating nutrition support class where people can learn to balance favorite holiday foods in a way that does not sacrifice their health or weight. Music Theater International’s Urinetown: The Musical: Friday, Nov. 17, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, Prairie High School, 11311 NE 119th St., Brush Prairie. NatureScaping class on Mason bees: 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, CASEE Center, Building B, Room 205, 11104 NE 149th St., Brush Prairie. The class will focus on native Mason bees and how to attract and maintain the pollinators, hosted by Brigg Franklin, master composter/recycler and Mason beekeeper. Ridgefield Lions tree lot: 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 24, Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex, 3101 S. Hillhurst Road, Ridgefield. The Christmas tree lot hosted by the Ridgefield Lions Club will be open until all trees are sold. Trees include Douglas, grand and noble firs. Other supplies include plain and decorated wreaths, garland and swag.

2023 Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration: 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St. The City of Battle Ground will kick off the holiday season at its 34th annual holiday tree lighting. The event is free. After the lighting the Fire District 3 Engine and Battle Ground Police Department will escort Santa and Mrs. Claus into the Community Center to greet children. There will be holiday music and cookies and hot cocoa donated by Summit View Church.

La Center Christmas Festival: Friday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 3, La Center. Events include a Santa Stride 5K run/walk; tree-lighting ceremony, gingerbread contest, coloring contest, pictures with Santa, band and choirs. Coffee with the Chief: 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 4, Dev’s Coffee Bar Battle Ground, 316 E. Main St., Battle Ground. People can meet with Fire District 3 Chief Scott Sorenson. He specifically wishes to hear from residents why they did not did not approve a fire levy lid lift in the August election.
