Join the staff at Battle Ground Lake Park as retired Department of Fish and Wildlife employee Jana Grote and volunteers Warren and Ellen Wilson discuss the many types of fish in the lake. Native plant ID walk: 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9. Join the staff at Battle Ground Lake Park as a Master Gardener and NatureScaping volunteer takes participants on a one-mile walk around the lake to observe a variety of plant species that contribute to the park’s ecosystem. Capacity is limited to 20 people. Participants are encouraged to sign up in advance by calling 360-687-4621.

Our Days Steamboat Festival: Saturday, July 9 for citywide garage sales; 7:30 p.m. on July 29 for parade followed by a movie in the park. Other events on July 30 include a 5K, vendors, car show, beer garden, bingo, beautiful baby and kid zone. Join the La Center community for its Our Days Steamboat Festival. Art in the Garden: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 10. Join NatureScaping and the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of Art in the Garden, which includes art, music, spinning demonstrations, a recycling demonstration, and a mini plant sale at the Wildlife Botanical Gardens. Battle Ground senior luncheon: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 11. Join the Battle Ground seniors for their monthly luncheon. There will be barbecue. Opus School of Music: Monday, July 11 to Friday, Aug. 19. Harvest Days: Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16. Head to Battle Ground for the annual Harvest Days celebration. There will be a Harvest Night Cruise at 6 p.m. on July 15 and a parade at 10 a.m. on July 16, as well as a pancake breakfast and vendor fair. Hockinson Blueberry Festival: 9 a.m. for blueberry sales, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for festival on Saturday, July 16. Join the Hockinson community for the annual Blueberry Festival, which will include live music, a blueberry pie baking contest, and a local celebrity pie eating contest. Vendors will include Hearth Coffee, Heirloom Family Micro Farm, Good Year Farms, and Amelia’s Exquisite Mexican Dining. Ridgefield Forest Fair: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. Join the RIdgefield Art Association as they host a new festival which includes dancers from Northwest Classical Ballet, a parade, and 30 artisan booths. Bigfoot Mojo Band and Reckless Kompany will provide music, which includes an open mic between sets. The Ridgefield Lions Club will provide food as well.
