Vancouver Goes to the Movies: Doors open at 5 p.m. and the event begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4. Join the Clark County Historical Museum as historian and Historic Preservation Commission chair Andy Gregg presents “Vancouver Goes to the Movies.” Gregg will detail Vancouver’s moviegoing history as far back as 1897. General admission is $5, seniors and students are $4, and children under 18 are $3. It is free for CCHM members, veterans, and active-duty military personnel. Clark County Fair: Aug. 5 to Aug. 14. Join residents of the area as the Clark County Fair returns. It will include carnival rides, hot dog and hamburger eating competitions, a baby beauty contest, a science show, a reptile exhibit, and a large variety of foods. Pomeroy Farm Days: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the first weekend of every month through August. Join the Pomeroy Farm as they host an open farm weekend, which includes I-spy activities for kids, farm animals, artisans and vendors. Parking and admission is free, but a donation is encouraged. Dragon Boat Races: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. The Paddle for Life Dragon Boat Races will return to the Ridgefield Waterfront. Come watch community and club teams paddle down a 250-meter course to the finish line during the event which supports local Clark County charities. The event will take place at the waterfront on the west end of Pioneer Street in Ridgefield.

Ridgefield First Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. ​​Visit City Days at Davis Park at North Main Avenue and Mill Street to learn all about the City of Ridgefield and the work they do in the community. The Ridgefield Farmers Market and First Saturday vendors will be at Overlook Park on Main Avenue and Pioneer Street. 

Ridgefield Forest Fair: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. Join the Ridgefield Art Association as they host a new festival which includes dancers from Northwest Classical Ballet, a parade, and 30 artisan booths. Bigfoot Mojo Band and Reckless Kompany will provide music. There will be an open mic between sets. The Ridgefield Lions Club will provide food as well. La Center All School Reunion: 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7. Join former La Center High School students at an all school reunion. All classes are invited and welcomed. Fire & Grace: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12. The musical duo Fire & Grace, with Edwin Huizinga on violin and William Coulter on guitar, will play for one night at Ridgefield’s Old Liberty Theater. They will play folk tunes, classical compositions, tango, Celtic ballads and uptempo foot-stompers. Pig Jam: 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. Join the Battle Ground community for a Pig Jam, which will serve a large, roasted barbecue pig while an AC/DC tribute band plays. Food is $24, and includes three different plates, each with a quarter pound of meat and a side. Attendees can listen to the band’s performance for free.
