Commission to hear communication, outreach strategies used by caregivers to help older residents


The Commission on Aging will hold a meeting on Nov. 16 to discuss how caregivers can conduct outreach with seniors, families, friends, faith communities and neighbors. 

The meeting guests will include Beth Sanders from LifeBio and Claire Houlding from Three and Me, stated a news release.

The release stated the Commission on Aging will also talk about its key findings and recommendations it gathered from its focus on “Innovation through Connection,” and will also present the third annual Silver Citizen Award to Katlin Smith. The Silver Citizen Award recognizes older adults who go above and beyond in service to the community, the release stated.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid format with both in-person and virtual options. It will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center at 1300 Franklin St. in Vancouver. People can also join by phone or online.
