In a July 3 press release, Clark Public Utilities announced its Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to raise CEO and General Manager Lena Wittler’s salary from $335,000 to $351,750, a 5% increase, following an annual performance review. The news release stated that Wittler’s $400 monthly car allowance and other benefits will remain unchanged. The pay raise has been in effect since July 1.
“Under Ms. Wittler’s leadership, Clark Public Utilities continues to prioritize excellent service for our customers with strategic planning and investment decisions that will continue into the future,” CPU Board of Commissioners President Jim Malinowski said in a news release.
Wittler has served as CPU CEO and general manager since June 2019. CPU Commission Vice President Nancy Barnes said Wittler’s leadership last year merited her pay raise.
“In my 30 years as a commissioner, 2023 was perhaps one of the most challenging, yet Ms. Wittler and her team navigated it with diligence and unwavering focus on our customers’ best interests,” Barnes said in the news release. “I believe more challenging times are ahead, but I’m confident in the leadership strength of our general manager to work through them.”
