Clark County seeks input on Orchards Community Park improvements

Clark County Public Works is seeking community input as it begins designing updates for Orchards Community Park.

The county is asking residents to share what features and improvements they would like to see at the 33-acre park through an online survey. The survey is available at clark.wa.gov/public-works/orchards and will remain open through Thursday, Aug. 6.

Residents can also provide feedback in person during a park event from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at the park’s picnic shelter. County park planners will be available to answer questions and discuss the project. The event will also include games and light refreshments.

Orchards Community Park currently includes forested picnic areas, walking trails, open lawn space, active play areas and a rose garden maintained by the Vancouver Sunrise Rotary Club. Existing facilities include one picnic shelter with covered seating for 75 people, three barbecue grills, 22 picnic tables, eight sets of play equipment, three horseshoe pits, a drinking fountain, a restroom, 18 parking spaces and two disabled parking stalls.

Clark County Parks and Nature is leading the update and improvement project.
