The Clark County Commission on Aging is seeking three volunteers passionate about the senior community to help implement the county’s Aging Readiness Plan.
Volunteers who can advocate on issues such as senior housing, transportation, supportive services, emergency preparedness and other aspects of the commission’s Aging Readiness Plan are encouraged to apply, the news release stated.
The three positions will begin Sunday, June 1. Commission on Aging members typically serve three-year terms, which will end May 31, 2028, a news release by Clark County stated.
Residents from across Clark County may apply to join the Commission on Aging. Volunteers may apply by submitting a resume and letter of interest to Michelle Pfenning, County Manager’s Office, at Michelle.Pfenning@clark.wa.gov. Applications also may be mailed to P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000. Applications are due by 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 9.
The commission meets from 3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings include a work session followed by a public meeting with informational presentations and discussions. Additional meetings, review of materials and related tasks may require an extra 10 hours per month. Meetings currently are being held in a hybrid format, with in-person and virtual options to attend, the release stated.
