As gardening season approaches, there’s a plethora of nurseries to choose from in North Clark County. Here is a sampling of offerings:

D&D Nursery

Hours: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday

D&D is a nursery that specializes in Japanese maples with over 50 varieties like escallonia, hibiscus, nandina and pieris. Tours of the nursery are also available by appointment.

 

Millennium Farms

1504 NW 299th St., Ridgefield

Hours: Noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Millennium Farms is open until May 29. The nursery offers a multitude of plants, vegetables and flowers with one of the largest selections in the Greater Vancouver and Portland area. Thai hot peppers, Indian lemon grass, and chamomile are just a few examples of what the nursery has to offer.

Chapman’s Greenhouse and Nursery

14002 NE 117th Ave., Vancouver

Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

Chapman’s Greenhouse and Nursery is run by Olivia Chapman, who offers a variety of vegetables and garden plants, especially popular tomato varieties like parks whopper, big zac, and the beefmaster.

Eastfork Nursery

Eastfork Nursery in La Center specializes in Japanese maples, notably Acer palmatum dissectum and Acer shirasawanum, selling them at wholesale prices. The nursery’s location is provided after scheduling an appointment by calling the phone number and asking for Sam. 

Tsugawa Nursery

Tsugawa Nursery excels in fruit trees, bonsai, and Japanese maples, offering top quality products since 1981.

 

A&R Nursery

A&R is a wholesale nursery that’s open to the public, offering a wide selection of trees like Salix babylonica and Larix laricina, conifers like aureus and glaucus, and perennials like nassella tenuissima and ogons.

GRO Outdoor Living

GRO Outdoor Living is a nursery that also specializes in landscaping, offering a variety of trees and shrubs like bird’s nest spruce, blue giant sequoia and Hinoki cypress.
