The Clark County Fire District 3 (CCFD3) Board of Fire Commissioners has adopted the district’s 2026 operating budget, outlining planned investments to maintain emergency response capabilities while addressing rising costs and long-term service needs.
The adopted budget supports fire suppression, emergency medical services, prevention, training, facilities and maintenance of emergency apparatus and equipment, along with core operational costs, according to a CCFD3 news release.
“This budget reflects the realities facing fire districts today,” Fire Chief Chris Drone said in the release. “Rising costs, aging infrastructure and the need to maintain readiness all factor into our long-term planning. Our focus is on sustaining reliable emergency services while managing resources responsibly.”
The board has also begun preliminary discussions about future capital needs as part of long-range planning. No decisions have been made, and any potential options would be developed through a public process with community input, the release stated.
CCFD3 provides fire and life safety services to more than 46,000 residents in east Clark County, including the city of Battle Ground. For more information, visit fire3.org.
