Hundreds gathered to celebrate Christmas during Battle Ground’s annual holiday tree lighting on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Battle Ground Community Center.

Battle Ground Parks and Recreation hosted the event, which drew a larger crowd than the previous year, according to recreation and facilities manager Kim Cederholm.

Attendees met Santa and Mrs. Claus, who arrived in a Fire District 3 firetruck escorted by the Battle Ground Police Department. Participants also enjoyed cookies, hot chocolate and tours of emergency service vehicles.

Visitors can view the City of Battle Ground’s Christmas trees at the Battle Ground Community Center, located at 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground.
