BGPS seeks volunteers for Instructional Materials Committee

Battle Ground Public Schools (BGPS) is seeking members for the Instructional Materials Committee. The committee ensures that new school district teaching and learning materials are selected following proper process and evaluates library books that are being reconsidered.

The Instructional Materials Committee is composed of parents, guardians, teachers, teacher librarians and students, a BGPS news release stated. The committee meets in-person at a location to be determined from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month from September to May.

Parents, guardians and staff serve three-year terms on the committee. Student committee members serve one or two-year terms, the press release stated.



Committee applications are due by Sunday, Jan. 26. Applications are available online at shorturl.at/uBEpW.

Selected applicants will go through an informal interview process. Those selected to join the committee must be approved by the BGPS Board of Directors. Orientation will take place Thursday, Feb. 20, and the first official meeting will be Thursday, March 27.
