In preparation for a major update to the 2045 Comprehensive Plan, the City of Battle Ground is seeking community members to contribute to the city’s further development and climate strategies for the next 20 years.
The City of Battle Ground is forming the Climate Policy Advisory Team (CPAT) to play a vital role in ensuring the city’s growth aligns with community values. Team members will review climate data, assess risks and collaboratively develop recommendations for the Comprehensive Plan update, a news release by the City of Battle Ground stated.
“Our community members are the key to the creation of an impactful climate resiliency plan,” Battle Ground Planning Supervisor Sam Crummett stated in the news release. “Their firsthand knowledge and understanding of our local environmental needs and challenges will profoundly influence our creation of a sustainable plan.”
A climate goal is a required part of the Comprehensive Plan under a new Washington law, the news release stated.
CPAT will consist of 10 to 15 community members who live, work or represent organizations in Battle Ground. Members are required to attend monthly meetings from February to June, the news release stated.
Applications are available online at shorturl.at/WDdxq and are due by Friday, Jan. 24.
