Battle Ground Police investigating hit-and-run

Battle Ground Police Department detectives are seeking information from people who may have information about a hit-and-run that seriously injured a woman in the 3300 block of West Main Street the morning of Saturday, Jan. 11.

According to a news release, investigators believe the victim, described as a 45-year-old Black female, was struck sometime before 8 a.m. while walking on the north side of West Main Street, heading westbound, near the entrance of the former VCA Animal Hospital office. Police believe she was walking on or near the roadway when she was struck. As of Wednesday, the victim was in critical condition at a local hospital. 



Police believe the suspect vehicle is a 2020-25 Chevrolet Silverado truck, model 2500 or 3500. The exact color of the vehicle is not known, but it is likely to have damage to its passenger-side mirror. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and residences to identify the vehicle and driver, according to the release.
