The Battle Ground High School Equestrian Team participated in its third meet of the season at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds in Elma. The meet, which was held from April 22 to April 24,  yielded great results for the team.

“All eight of our riders qualified for the state competition, some in both individual events and teams events which earned them all Battle Ground State belt buckles,” coach Jenna Anderson said. “Way to go Battle Ground.”

Miah Fultz and Angel Halle won the gold medal for cow sorting and Willow Babcock won the bronze medal for working rancher at the meet. Daisy Anderson, Babcock, Halle, and Elizabeth “Ellie” Miller all won the silver award for the working fours drill team as well.

Anderson highlighted Miller, who was given the Top Tiger award after the meet.

“Ellie had overcome multiple horse changes this season (and right before this meet), due to horses getting injured,” Anderson said. “She was always on time for her events, was a major help when teammates were injured and unable to care for their horses at the meet, and had a great all around attitude this meet.”
