Battle Ground City Councilmember Eric Overholser has earned a Certificate of Municipal Leadership (CML) from the Association of Washington Cities after completing more than 30 hours of training.
The program recognizes city and town officials who complete training in five key areas: legal requirements and ethics, budgeting and financial management, infrastructure and land use, community building and effective local leadership, according to a City of Battle Ground news release.
“Being a city leader in Washington is a complex job,” association CEO Deanna Dawson said in the news release. “Through our CML program, we are providing our elected officials with the knowledge they need to effectively operate within the law, plan for the future, secure and manage funds, foster strong relationships and work to build more equitable communities.”
Overholser was elected to the Battle Ground City Council in 2023 and serves on the regional Emergency Services District 2 board, as well as the city’s Legislative and Ethics committees.
