The KWRL Roosters soared to victory Sunday in the third pool play round of the 13- to 15-year-old Babe Ruth World Series at Story Field in Longview.
Cade Reitzenstein singled home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning in a 0-0 game against Denver City, Texas.
Rooster starting pitcher Derek Kropp was perfect through 6 2/3 innings before walking a batter. He finished off the seventh inning without allowing a hit and collected seven strikeouts.
Winning pitcher Irving Alvarez took over for Kropp in the eighth inning and struck out two more batters.
