Use your ballot to make a difference in primary elections

Posted

A primary election is held whenever more than two persons registered to run for an office. We the voters get to determine which two persons’ names appear on the final, general election ballot in November.

We live here in our local communities. Who gets elected to a school board or city council matters to us in our day-to-day lives.

To learn more about the primary candidates and what they think you are invited to attend the League of Women Voters of Clark County candidate forums. Tuesday, July 16 at Cascade Park Library hear from Vancouver School District candidates for positions 1, 4, and 5; Wednesday, July 17 at Vancouver Community (downtown) Library hear from candidates for Battle Ground City Council positions 3 and 7 and for Vancouver City Council positions 2 and 6. Hear candidates’ voices for yourself and learn what they think about core community issues. All candidates, even those who do not go forward to the general election, have ideas and perspectives that help us better understand local issues. Attend the forums and learn, then vote by August 6.
