Community Home Health and Hospice’s Light Up Your Night 

5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., Wed., Nov. 7 at E. Kenneth Henderson Memorial Garden, 1000 12th Ave., Longview. Light a memorial luminary and enjoy refreshments. Special luminary bags will be available for veterans. Information: 360-846-2439.

 

Battle Ground Elks Lodge veterans dinner

6:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9 at Battle Ground Elks Lodge, 907 SE Grace Ave, Battle Ground. Ham dinner and dessert. Free for all Veterans; $12.50 for non-veteran adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Organizers ask that one RSVP by Nov. 6: 360-910-5124, or 360-687-1230. 

32nd Annual Lough Legacy Veterans Parade

11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Sat., Nov. 10 at Fort Vancouver National Site, 1501 E Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver. Honoring veterans from all branches of service. Information and route map: thehistorictrust.org/calendar/veterans-parade.

 

Storm City Roller Girls veterans event

Doors open at 5 p.m., event starts at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10 at Clark County Event Center, 17402 NE Delfel Rd., Ridgefield. Storm City Roller Girls vs. Chaos Theory Pickup Rollers. Ridgefield American Legion Veterans Day Ceremony

3 p.m.,  Sunday, Nov. 11 at Ridgefield American Legion Post 44, 210 N Main Ave., Ridgefield. Will be held in front of Veterans Memorial in Downtown Ridgefield. Larry Smith is the guest speaker this year. Information: 360-903-3466. 

 

City of Battle Ground honors veterans 

11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12 at the Battle Ground Community Center located at 912 E Main St., Battle Ground. Mayor Mike Dalesandro and council member Philip Johnson will lead the ceremony and invite community members to gather with them to recognize veterans and to remember 31 honored local veterans who died in service to our country. The ceremony will also commemorate the 100th anniversary of the day that World War I ended. 

 

Veteran hiring event

9 a.m. - 12 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 15005 NE 65th St., Vancouver, WA 98682. Over 70 businesses expected. All job seekers are welcome. Yacolt Primary

6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the gym at Yacolt Primary, 406 W Yacolt Rd., Yacolt. Choir students will perform for parents and veterans. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. 

 

Pleasant Valley Primary 

9:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8 and Fri., Nov. 9 in the middle school gym at Pleasant Valley Primary and Middle School, 14320 NE 50th Ave., Vancouver. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be available. 

 

Captain Strong Primary

8:40 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9 at Captain Strong Primary School, 1002 NW 6th Ave., Battle Ground. The school will be hosting a breakfast for veterans followed by a school-wide assembly at 9:30 a.m. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. 



 

Daybreak Primary

10:15 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9 at Daybreak Primary School, 1900 NW 20th Ave., Battle Ground. Primary students will sing songs in honor of veterans. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. 

 

Maple Grove School

10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9 in the gym at Maple Grove School, 601 B SW Eaton Blvd., Battle Ground. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. 

 

Chief Umtuch Middle School

10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9 in the commons at Chief Umtuch Middle School, 700 NW 9th St., Battle Ground. School band will perform. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. 

 

Daybreak Middle School

9:10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9 at Daybreak Middle School, 1900 NW 20th Ave., Battle Ground. Battle Ground High School Color Guard will present the flags. All veterans in attendance will be recognized for their service. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. 

 

Laurin Middle School

11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9 in the gym at Laurin Middle School, 13601 NE 97th Ave., Vancouver. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. 

 

Tukes Valley Middle School

9:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9 at Tukes Valley Middle School, 20601 NE 167th Ave., Battle Ground. All veterans and their families are welcome to attend. 

 

Battle Ground High School

Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 in the library at Battle Ground High School, 300 W Main St., Battle Ground. Hosted by the Air Force Junior ROTC and the Social Studies department, the panels will comprise veterans from all military branches and be representative of several different eras. 

 

Prairie High School

9:45 a.m., Tues., Nov. 13 in the auditorium at Prairie High School, 11311 NE 119th St., Vancouver. The Prairie High School Air Force JROTC will be presenting. Community members and veterans are invited to attend. 

 

Glenwood Heights Primary

1:50 and 2:50 p.m., Wed., Nov. 14 at Glenwood Heights Primary School, 9716 NE 134th St., Vancouver. Both assemblies will feature the school’s Cubby Choir, and the Prairie High School Air Force JROTC will present the Colors as well as perform a rifle routine. Veterans who attend will be honored.
