Battle Ground Healing Arts to hold summer farmers market

Posted

For the first year, Battle Ground Healing Arts is hosting the “Healing Arts Farmers Market” to feature local and organic food in downtown Battle Ground on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., July through September. The new farmers market kicks off on July 13, to celebrate Battle Ground Healing Arts’ 30th anniversary.

“I am excited for several aspects of this project,” Medical Director of Battle Ground Healing Arts, Jillian Stansbury said. “For one, this is a different “farmer first” model of holding a market.  “Unlike some markets where farmers must pay a fee to participate, and then spend their time running a booth, we are aiming to support our farmers, charging no fees, selling their goods for them, and giving them 100% of the profits.”

According to Stansbury, the market will include at least 10 vendors with products such as grass-fed beef, local honey and organic fruits and vegetables.

“Local sustainable farm operations are crucial to the health and long term survival of a community,” Stansbury said.

Stansbury hopes to make the farmers market a yearly addition to Main Street and is excited to see the market grow.

“I am expecting a small start, most likely, but an event that will grow over the summer, and especially over the coming years.”

The Battle Ground Healing Arts is a “multidisciplinary medical practice” that offers natural healing to support the body, mind and spirit. They offer many natural health practices and products for men, women and children.
