Battle Ground School Board invites public to help select superintendent search firm

Posted

The Battle Ground School District Board of Directors is actively seeking candidates for the position of superintendent of schools.

The first step in this process is to hire a consulting firm to oversee the superintendent search process. The functions of this search firm will be:

• To develop and conduct a thoughtful, timely process for gathering Board, staff, parent and community input in developing criteria for the superintendent selection process.

• To conduct a thorough search for appropriate applicants and produce for the Board a pool of highly-qualified candidates who meet the established criteria.

• To coordinate the candidate presentation process, including opportunities for public involvement.

Board members invite the public to be a part of the selection process for the search firm. The district has received four proposals for this job.

Anyone interested in providing input to the Board on the choice of search firm by reviewing and evaluating proposals from the four search companies should contact Sandy U’Ren at (360) 885-5305. U’Ren will set up appointments to review the documents at the Battle Ground School District Office at CASEE-A, 11104 NE 149th St., Brush Prairie. Those with appointments should plan on spending approximately an hour in this process. The deadline for giving input in the search consultant selection is Fri., Aug. 30, 2013.
