High school football season underway
THE 2014 HIGH SCHOOL football season kicked off on Sept. 6 with games all around North Clark County. Ridgefield turned the first game on its new artificial turf stadium into a community event. The Spudders, who lost to Rochester 34-0, were led on to their new field prior to kickoff by senior Dalton Ries (2) and the U.S. flag (left). Port of Ridgefield Commissioner Joe Melroy (left center) cooked up hot dogs enjoyed by everyone, including Ridgefield Mayor Ron Onslow (far right). During the game, Tyler Adams (5) tried to outrun some Rochester defenders on a Spudders’ offensive possession. Photos by Mike Schultz.
