THE 7TH ANNUAL KALANI RODRIGUES MEMORIAL Scholarship Run and Walk will be held on Sun., Sept. 25, to help raise money for athletic scholarships at Clark College. The event is also to raise awareness for brain cancer treatment which took Rodrigues’ (pictured here) life in 2004.
It all began with family and friends walking across the Clark College campus.
Now celebrating its seventh year, the Kalani Rodrigues Memorial Scholarship Run and Walk has grown into a 10K run, attracting participants from across the region.
The event, which is held in memory of Clark College alumnus Kalani Rodrigues, will be Sun., Sept. 25 at Clark College. The 10K run and 5K run will each begin at 9 a.m. The 5K walk will begin at 9:20 a.m.
In the late summer of 2004, track athlete and Clark College alumnus, Rodrigues envisioned a community run and walk event to generate awareness for brain cancer and its treatment. He wanted to be among those running in what he called the "K-Rod"
