State tennis: Harlan, Cultice place

Gunnar Harlan of Battle Ground High School finished his high school tennis career with a 3rd place finish in the 2A state tennis championship at the Columbia Basin Racquet Club in Richland on Saturday. 

After a semi-final loss to Andrew Kabacy of Skyview (6-2 7-5), Harlan beat Colby Tong of Auburn Riverside High School (7-5, 7-5) to collect the 3rd place trophy.



Farther west, Spencer Cultice of Ridgefield High School took 6th in the 4A state tennis championship at the Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle on Saturday. 

Cultice made it to the semi-finals, where he lost 6-3 6-1 to Shane Lynette of Sehome High School. Cultice then lost 6-2 6-0 a consolation match to determine 3rd and 6th.
