Dusty Anchors passes away at 68

Dusty Anchors, the Ridgefield Spudders’ softball coach, passed away today at the age of 68 after a battle with heart disease. The coach entered hospice care on Thursday, May 9 after being diagnosed with stage four heart failure in December 2017. In a Facebook post on May 9, Anchors wrote about his time as the Ridgefield high school softball coach, stating that after coaching softball for many years, he fell in love with the community in Ridgefield and the students at Ridgefield High School.

“Thanks for your friendship, sharing your life with me,” he wrote.
