Members of the Pacific FC Strikers have moved on to the high school soccer season but after that they will reconvene in an attempt to build on a Founders Cup championship won in February.

The Strikers claimed the boys Under-16 select championship in a tournament held at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. The team is coached by Julie Williams and Keenan Burris and includes players from several area high schools.

In the final match, Pacific FC Strikers defeated the MIFC Whitecaps 98/Koning from Mercer Island 3-1. Masaki Rhodes, of Union High School, scored two goals and Battle Ground’s Casey Morgan added the other goal.

In the semifinals, the Strikers defeated the Lake Hills Flash from Bellevue in an overtime match decided by penalty kicks. Rhodes, Scottie Mehan (Union), Brandon Hazlett (Battle Ground), Killian Burris (Evergreen), and Brittan Gullickson (Ridgefield) were all successful on their attempted penalty kicks to give the Strikers the win.

The Strikers’ championship season also included a team title at the Mt. Hood Challenge last fall. Other team members included goalkeeper Kyle Orozco (Battle Ground), Jason Osborn (Ridgefield), Jayden Ackerman (La Center), Zion Moore (Union), Alex Ulman (Hockinson), Drew Williams (Ridgefield), Drew Henderson (Hockinson), Noah Miller (Skyview) and Grant Jeffries (Ridgefield).
