BRUSH PRAIRIE – Eight Hockinson High School athletes signed their national letters of intent on Feb. 2 in a ceremony held in the school’s library.

The group of athletes include three members of the Hawks football team, that finished the last two seasons with identical 11-1 records and trips to the state Class 2A state playoffs.

Kedrick Johnson will play football next season at Eastern Washington University. Johnson was a standout wide receiver and outside linebacker at Hockinson but is likely to play defensive back at Eastern Washington.

Cameron Loos will play football collegiately at New Mexico State University. Loos was a standout at tight end and outside linebacker for the Hawks.

Will Ortner, an offensive and defensive lineman, will play next season at Central Washington University.

Johnson, Loos and Ortner were each all-Greater St. Helens League performers in high school.

Rylee Seekins signed a letter of intent to play women’s soccer at the University of Portland. In October, Seekins was invited to participate in a U.S. Soccer Women’s National Under-18 team training camp in San Diego.

Hockinson’s Hannah Neibauer will play basketball next year at the Oregon Institute of Technology. Jordan Lester will move on to play baseball at Walla Walla Community College and Haley Phillips and Elle Tilkin will compete in rowing at the University of Washington.
