Prairie’s Elijah Nelson defeated Mountain View’s Lu Abuizzah 6-3, 6-0 in the championship round of the 3A boys district tennis tournament at Vancouver Tennis Center Saturday.
Nelson beat Sam Crawford of Fort Vancouver 6-3, 6-0 in the semifinals and teammate Ethan Hsu 6-0, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
Cole Harmon and Ethan Heflin finished in third place for Prairie in the doubles tournament. The Falcons defeated Evergreen’s Vinh Truong and Porter Lorange 6-1, 6-2 in the consolation finals.
The 3A bi-district tennis tournament takes place Friday and Saturday at the Sprinkler Tennis Center in Tacoma.
