Washington’s Childhood Vaccine Program is reporting a 30 percent decrease in the number of administered vaccinations for children ages birth to 18 during the month of March, according to a Friday press release from the state Joint Information Center.

The Washington state Employment Security Department saw 170,063 initial claims for unemployment insurance during the week of March 29 through April 4, marking the third week in a row that more than 100,000 initial claims have been filed statewide. This comes as state-mandated business closures due to the coronavirus crisis have significantly weakened the economy.
