Battle Ground resident Frans Waterlander has just released a book titled The Obama Doctrine: Socialism, Corruption and Economic Collapse, which deals with issues surrounding President Barack Obama’s time in office.

Waterlander, who immigrated to America in 1977 from The Netherlands, grew up in Holland just after they were liberated from under Nazi reign. Waterlander began working for Hewlett-Packard. In 1977, he had the opportunity to take a position in California and was able to set sail for America.

When he immigrated, Waterlander began taking an interest in American government and he dove head first into how dirty he felt American politics had become.

In 1990, he was offered a job in Vancouver to be a manager in the product quality department at Hewlett-Packard. At that time, Waterlander landed in Battle Ground and he has been in Clark County ever since.

By this time, Waterlander was beginning to follow politics as Bill Clinton took office and then eventually was followed by George W. Bush. When Obama took office, Waterlander said that was the last straw.

"I saw what was going on and I started taking notes," said Waterlander. "I wanted to see what was going on more than what was out in the open."

Initially, his plan wasn’t to write a book, but when he accumulated over 100 pages he felt his voice needed to be heard. The book mainly discusses topics and issues that have come up during Obama’s time in office. He ends the book with giving his ideas on how these problems can be fixed.

"I wanted to have a say in what was going on between conservatives and liberals," he said. "By no means am I an expert in this stuff. I just wanted to give a voice on how things could be turned around."

The book is available for purchase at www.amazon.com.

"I just want to give people a take on what is going on from another point of view," he said. "I think it really shows what is going on in this country."
