Ridgefield native receives College of Business outstanding student award

Oklahoma Baptist University recently recognized its exceptional students during OBU’s 2014 Awards Convocation May 7. The event took place in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium on the OBU campus in Shawnee, OK.

Dr. David Houghton, dean of the Paul Dickinson College of Business, presented the award.

Everett Adams, a professional accountancy major from Ridgefield, received the Outstanding Senior in Business Award, presented to the student who has demonstrated exceptional ability in the field of business.



He graduated with the designation summa cum laude during Spring Commencement May 16 in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium. Students graduate with the designation summa cum laude for maintaining at least a 3.95 grade-point average. He was also named to the 2013-14 Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

With campuses in Shawnee, OK, and Oklahoma City, OBU offers 10 bachelor’s degrees with 86 fields of study and three master’s degree programs. The Christian liberal arts university has an overall enrollment of 2,097, with students from 34 states and 30 other countries. OBU has been rated as one of the top 10 regional colleges in the West by U.S. News and World Report for 22 consecutive years and has been Oklahoma’s highest rated regional college in the U.S. News rankings for 20 consecutive years. Forbes.com consistently ranks OBU as a top university in Oklahoma and the Princeton Review has named OBU one of the best colleges and universities in the western United States for nine consecutive years.
