Ridgefield couple will celebrate 60 years

Corn and Marie Fontyn of Ridgefield will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house celebration Sun., April 27, 1 p.m., at Lucy’s Garden, 23812 NW Meuller Rd., in Ridgefield. All family and friends are invited to attend, bring cards and well wishes only, no gifts.

Corn and Marie met on Mount Hood and were married April 24, 1954. Marie worked at Yard ‘N Garden Land and is now retired, and Corn worked as a truck driver for Risberg Truck Lines before retiring. Marie enjoys sewing and has made more than 500 flannel shirts for “her boys.” Corn’s pastimes include reading, local history and woodworking. They both enjoy traveling, going on cruises, gardening and rooting for the Seahawks.



The couple has six children – Ed Fontyn of La Center, Dennis Fontyn of Ridgefield, Tom Fontyn of Vancouver, Geni Fontyn of Ridgefield, Mary Bee Eavenson of Woodland and Jodi Fontyn of Ridgefield. Marie and Corn have 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
