Bullying will not rob this citizen of their voice

I’ve lived in Clark County since 2000, and participated in the political scene regularly. I am a Democrat and Precinct Committee Officer.

I have walked my precinct for years, calling on Democrats, Republicans and every political leaning in between. I have never felt insecure or been threatened or insulted at any time. I have talked with passionate citizens, teenagers, elders with painful past memories. Every conversation has been respectful, regardless of political leaning.

The behavior of supporters of the motto “In God We Trust” were the most rude, ill-mannered group of people I have ever encountered. Prior to the meeting, I was told by one supporter of the motto, that he was carrying a weapon.

In the meeting room, I was screamed at and within inches of my face. During our testimony, there was very frequent loud booing, with very weak and late response from Chairman (David) Madore. Several of the supporters of the motto found it necessary to yell their testimony and pound the table. Anger and bluster ruled the room.

I will say to all who thought that bullying would win, you will not rob me of my voice.
