I have known Tom Mielke for a long time. Since he has become an elected official, I haven’t always agreed with everything he has done.
This time, his motion (which passed on Feb. 24) to post “In God We Trust” in the public hearing room, I believe deserved support from all of us.
In my opinion, the other two commissioners were simply playing politics by not seconding his motion immediately.
I am proud to be an American and a Christian. More of us need to stand up for what we believe in, and for the principals this country was founded on, before all of our beliefs and freedoms become a thing of the past.
