I want to thank members of the community for their generous support of my Gold Award Project. A council committee of volunteers decided that the project for Babies in Need was a worthy one and gave approval.
Babies in Need is a Clark County nonprofit organization which assists new parents in need of help to provide for their new babies. A container of baby clothes, diapers, wipes, blankets, bottles and anything else an infant might need is provided at no cost to the family.
Additionally, if the family has no car seat, which is required by law, Babies in Need will also provide a brand new car seat. The car seats are purchased by Babies in Need with funds that have been donated. They help, on average, 30-40 families each month.
Because of the gifts of baby items and the donations of cash, my parents and I were able to deliver 10 large trash bags stuffed full and give a sizable donation for car seats to Babies in Need.
Some of the people, who attended the shower, commented that the baby shower was the best they had ever attended and that they did not want the fun to end. Thank you so much.
