Obama’s promised changes have been for the worse

Posted

When President Obama was elected to office in 2008, he promised “changes.” Well, here are some of those changes:

Gas prices were $1.61 January 13, 2009 and now, here in Washington State, gas prices are over $4. This statistic from the historical gas price chart of GasBuddy.com

Obama has run up the national debt more than all the previous presidents combined to a total of over $16 trillion. In 2008, Obama said it was unpatriotic to have a $9 trillion deficit.

The median income is down from $54,000 to $50,000.

Eight million people are on disability and that is equal to the total population of New York.

Eighty-eight million people are not working out of a total population of 200 million. Three times more people are on food stamps today as were four years ago. 49.1 percent of the population depend on the government (the taxpayer). More than half of the adults in this country pay no income tax at all.

His promises of “green energy” have turned out to be paybacks to his political cronies. For example, 1.2 billion went to Solindra, an already bankrupt solar energy company. Obama gave one million taxpayer dollars to Ener One to build electric cars. Ener One declared bankruptcy the day after Obama’s State of the Union address (CNN News).

One hundred thirty-three billion dollars paid to various financial firms is yet to be repaid to taxpayers (special inspector for TARP).

Oil drilling permits are down 66 percent while Cuba drills right off our coast in Florida. President Obama is in “contempt of court” which ordered him to allow oil permits to continue.

Federal employees are paid on average, 16 percent more than comparable private jobs Many federal workers with just a high school education make as much as Microsoft workers.

Just think, if the voters reelect President Obama for another four years, how much more damage he will do to the country. Remember too, while Obama thought his mike was off, he leaned over to Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medveded and said, “After the election, I’ll have more flexibility.” In talks about our missile defense system, Obama has already severely cut back on our missiles. Does he plan to totally eliminate or further weaken our defenses?

Spanish-American philosopher, George Santayana said, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
