Why did Democrats ignore the ‘wise’ words of Hillary?

We all recall Hillary Clinton’s shock and outrage when candidate Donald Trump hinted that he might not honor the outcome of their contest.

“That’s not the way our democracy works,” she said. “We’ve been around 240 years. We’ve had free and fair elections and we’ve accepted the outcomes when we may not have liked them and that is what must be expected of anyone standing on a debate stage during a general election.”

She was right, our Constitutional Republic (America is not a democracy), does not determine who represents citizens by never-ending recounts and refusals to concede a loss, no matter how disappointed some candidates may be.

But many elections were contested during this midterm, with some “votes” coming in long after deadlines, and with demands for recounts and accusations of voters being disenfranchised.

It is a sign of desperation, almost always from one particular party, whenever they lose.

Apparently Hillary’s wisdom is to be ignored.

While I don’t like losing the House to a party bent on socialism, attacking businesses and jobs, depressing our economy and personal finances, and supporting global governance over distinctly American Constitutional principles, I accept the outcome and am happy to move forward with the Supreme Court, the Senate and the White House firmly in conservative patriot hands.

The House will now have its chance to show its intent to increase tax burdens on everyday Americans and to cripple job-producing businesses, and citizens will have more information to use in making decisions in 2020.

As for contested races, it would be nice if we could be confident of election outcomes in the first few hours and days after Americans cast their votes.

In the meantime, a hint for parents:

It’s nice to have post season pizza parlor gatherings for the kids, but handing out participation trophies to everyone might not be a really good idea for their future training and behavior.
